Flying into the charts at Christmas: M.I.K.I and his album “Malochersohn”

The New Year is barely more than a week old and we are in the German charts YET AGAIN! Well well, we won’t complain. In charts week 2/2014 (survey period: December 20-26, 2013), our passenger, German hip hop artist M.I.K.I, has found a cozy spot at number 94 of the German Album Charts – right between Kings of Leon and Katie Melua. The highlight of this chart entry: Chart week 2 is infamous for being the toughest sales week in the entire year due to pre-Christmas business. Wow, M.I.K.I, we’re so proud!

But what makes M.I.K.I and his album “Malochersohn” so special is the huge amount of support from several of the First Bundesliga (German professional soccer league) players. Player Moritz Leitner, for example, is an open supporter of M.I.K.I. Another Player, Jakub Blaszczykowski, even invited M.I.K.I to Poland to play at the opening of his new spa. For anyone interested, here is a short documentary about their trip (in German):

And once again for everybody: A snippet of M.I.K.I’s title track “Malochersohn”.
